Everyday Seems Like Christmas

Some days are just like that. They start, they end (but they are the rare exception). Here in the “store”, every day is like Christmas. Monday to Friday our big truck rolls in full of treasures, donations from folks just like you. From big homes on the lake, to small basement suites; from stores, businesses and organizations and let’s not forget the important grandmas and grandpas.

Let’s see what we have today! A matching pair of Maytags, a washer and dryer about six years old, white, replaced by a stacking front loader model. This is GREAT…….thank you. We will test them both and soon they will be off to a new home. Then we received six bags of clothing in great shape along with a lady’s designer purse. Thank you. Next, a lazy boy reclining couch (Heidi and I give it a test sit – yep, it’s a keeper! Thank you!

Moving on to four boxes of miscellaneous household items including a mounted plastic trout that sings and dances once we put a new battery in him. Once again, thank you. Two old fashioned curtain rods seized up with rust, thank you. A box of books including a photo album from WWII (maybe Grandpa’s gone now and the kids see no value).

Two lawn chairs way past their prime with bent frames, thank you. A really nice beige loveseat, “hey we can display this with the lazy boy”, says Heidi with a glint in her eye. She can envision a finished room and showing it all just the way it will be in someone’s front room. Thank you (you’re welcome). What’s this? A big bag of nearly new steel- toed boots coming in the front door. Thank you, thank you!

My phone rings, “hi Gabi”, “hi Bob, do you want a king size hospital-like bed? It comes with two remotes, adjustable and massages?” YES PLEASE……….and…….THANK YOU!!!!!

It was Christmas once again today in the “store”.
