Welcome to Kelowna’s Gospel Mission’s brand new website and to the first installment of Randy’s Blog. Now to be honest, I have never been one to hastily join in all the new techno/communication options available today. I am not on Facebook, and I think I have an idea of what Twitter is. It took me years to finally get a cell phone, and believe it or not, I actually now am a Blackberry owner. But a blog, hmmmmmm. Putting down my thoughts electronically for the whole world to see, read, and even evaluate. That can seem a bit daunting. What if I say something stupid? Or worse, what if I actually write something profound, and people start to expect that sort of thing from me on a regular basis? I don’t know if I could take that kind of pressure! Ah, but the powers that be (that power being my communications officer), are quite firm in their instruction that a new website must also contain the director’s blog. So here I am friends, laying myself electronically before you. I can’t promise great things, but this I can assure you: That I will do my best to share with you some of the ins and outs, the ups and downs, the highs and lows, the victories and defeats of life here at Kelowna’s Gospel Mission. Who knows? Maybe as I share my life with you, you will catch a glimpse of the amazing work that our Papa has called us to, and you too will see these people we serve through His eyes and with His love.
