When people open their hearts, wonderful things happen, and smiles are generated.
On Tuesday, Invis Angels in the Night came around - during they day :) The mortgage brokers and friends collect funds all year and then buy warm winter items that are desperately needed this time of year. They popped by Kelowna's Gospel Mission to make their delivery, and for the men in our hostel it was almost like Santa had arrived!! Many smiles all around. Thank you to Invis and their colleagues who help to keep folks warm.
Earlier in the day, students from Okanagan College's Pay it Forward program also stopped by with some donations. It didn't take long at all for the program to live up to its name.
Among the donations were some baby items - booties, socks, bibs, jumpers - and while we don't usually have babies around, I told Sarah, who brought the donations, that I would see they get to a needy family.
Literally minutes later, I came back to my office, only to find our Dental Co-ordinator with a baby in her arms, The little guy, only about 6 months old was the son of a patient in our dental clinic. The man is a single dad, who was here getting some treatment. AHA!!!
By the time the dad was done in the dental chair, we had put together a package full of baby items and some toys for the young one, and they left with an even bigger smile!
You never know how or when your good deed will help. But you can trust that is does.
Many thanks to everyone who supports Kelowna's Gospel Mission. Its because of your support that we are able to help those in need.
Merry Christmas, and God Bless.
