A wonderful thing happened this week at Kelowna's Gospel Mission. We were the recipient of a truly creative gift.
Nelson, BC Art Therapist Julie McIntyre was visiting friends in Kelowna and thought she'd like to give back to the community.
She approached Kelowna's Gospel Mission about doing an art therapy project for our clients, and Veronica, our Case Worker Manager jumped at the chance. Art Therapy helps participants work through past trauma and stress, and assists in the healing process. The Hands to H'art project aims to help clients make connections to self, community and spirit.

The 2hour, twice weekly class is already a big hit with the 2 women and 7 men involved.
"I love revisiting my creative side; I remember the importance of being creative."
"I haven't' felt this creative since I was 7 years old."
"I don't feel as homesick."
" I feel safe in a creative space."
While this project is only 1 month, Julie and our Case Workers are hoping to make it an ongoing program.
Donations of art supplies - paper, sketch books, and quality art supplies are needed, and are gratefully accepted. Please contact Veronica 250-763-3737 x 404
