We are a faith-based, values-driven organization looking to hire committed caring people who want to make a difference. Maintenance/Janitorial is essential as we provide a clean, safe, efficient and attractive environment. This position is 6 hours/day at 30 hours per week.

 Job Summary Reporting to the Facilities Manager, the primary purpose of this position is to oversee the maintenance/ janitorial and repair of both the inside and outside of KGM’s Doyle Ave Shelter. Responsibilities include:

• maintenance of equipment inside the building (office, kitchen, camera, …)
• maintenance of building systems (plumbing, electrical systems, lighting, fire safety, …)
• assist in taking care of the building infrastructure itself (roofing, windows, doors and door locks, exterior and interior painting…)
• assist in taking care of the space around the building (landscaping and grounds maintenance, pest control, snow removal…)
• Sweep, vacuum, wax, and mop the floor
• Sanitize restrooms
• Empty trash, recycling, and compost
• Clear snow in the winter and tend to grass in summer
• Wash windows, inside and outside
• Maintain ventilation system and complete minor repairs as needed
• Make sure the establishment is clean and meets all safety requirements
• Wash walls, ceilings, and light fixtures regularly

 Skill Set The ideal candidate will have the following skills: Ability to problem solve

• Ability to work well with volunteers and provide direction
• High degree of comfort in a fast-paced environment
• Able to work independently
• All around knowledge and experience in property maintenance.
• Proficiency in janitorial services
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Windows environment and record-keeping
• Valid driver’s licence required
