Our Resource Development Department is looking for a full-time Assistant.  Donor care, thoroughness in data processing, willingness to work hard, and pleasant communication are key components.

Job Summary

The Resource Development Assistant is responsible for processing all donations and communication with donors as assigned.  The Resource Development Assistant provides support to the Director of Resource Development through coordinating administrative responsibilities.

Skill Set

Represent the Mission to donors in a positive and servant-like attitude. Process all donations and constituent activity in Raiser’s Edge and produce receipts in a timely manner as directed by the policies of the development department.

Acts as administrator of Raiser’s Edge software. Prepare all donation deposits. Process credit card transactions and PayPal donations in a timely manner and as required. Maintain all appeal, campaign, fund codes in Raiser’s Edge. Maintain all paperwork required for donor accountability (i.e. Gifts in Kind) and audit requirements. Resolve any donor inquiries and communication requests.  Assist in new initiatives for Monthly Donor programs in conjunction with development department staff. Assist bookkeeper with any deposit and recording issues that may arise.

Managing communications flow for Director of Resource Development through prioritizing emails etc. Ensuring timely follow-up for Director of Resource Development on sensitive tasks. Supporting Director of Resource Development time management priorities through managing Director of Resource Development calendar, scheduling meetings, etc.

Work as a team player, be willing to help co-workers in every situation. reliable and committed, organized, self-motivated, flexible, able to multi-task, able to politely deal with stressful individuals, anticipating and recognizing ‘what needs to be done’ and making it happen.

Conditions & Exposure to risk

Work in a fast-paced multifaceted environment with regularly changing conditions. This position will be working in an office with many people.  Office and related equipment (computer, phone, copier, etc.) provided.  This is a full-time position with KGM benefits provided. Some evening work may be required during events or busy periods.  Phone calls in the evenings may be required to maintain contact with donors.

Required Education & Experience

Grade 12 education; minimum of one-year general office administration experience; minimum of one-year data entry experience; able to use Microsoft Office applications; knowledge of Raiser’s Edge is essential
