We have an array of flexible formulas for daily / weekly / monthly events,
which we’ve designed for groups of varying sizes.

We have an array of flexible formulas for daily / weekly / monthly events,
which we’ve designed for groups of varying sizes.

Groups of 5 to 10 people can put on a full meal – where you buy, prepare the food, and serve our guests. We suggest chicken & rice casserole, beef stew, roast chicken dinner or an original idea of your own! Meals are served at 7am, 12pm, and 4:45pm.

Note: All meals should serve a minimum of 200 people.

Groups of 3 to 6 people (adults and teens, maybe a family!) can put on a breakfast – where the food is provided. You would need to prepare and serve the food, as well as do dishes and clean up afterwards. The shift approximately is from 6:00 to 7:30am on week days.

Groups of 2 to 5 people (adults and teens) can schedule a kitchen shift — where you help the cook with food prep, cleaning and organizing. This includes preparing salads, sandwiches, buns and serving food. Shifts are from 10:00am to 1:00pm and 3:15 to 6pm.

Groups of 3 to 20 people (adults and teens) can schedule 2 to 3 hour shifts of general labour around the mission, during any day of the week. A signup sheet for various tasks would be provided, including indoor and outdoor cleaning and kitchen work.
Groups of larger sizes can sign up to volunteer at one or more of our special events, scattered throughout each year. You may be interested in volunteering for our Strides to End Homelessness  or Charity Golf Classic events.

Groups of 5 to 10 people (adults or 16+ teens) also have the option to put on a dessert night — where the main food, such as cakes, pies and pastries, is provided. You would need to prepare and serve the food, spend time with our guests, and clean up afterwards. Dessert nights are from approximately 6:30 to 8:00pm on weeknights. There is also the opportunity to supply optional fruit, and drinks such as hot chocolate or juice, if you’d like to go an extra mile or two.

Groups of 5 to 10 people (adults or 16+ teens) have a further option, to put on a nacho night — where volunteers donate the food. You would need to prepare and serve the food, spend time with our guests, and help clean up afterwards. Nacho nights are approximately from 6:30 to 8:00pm on weeknights.

Shifts are subject to availability.  Phone: 250-763-3737 email: volunteer@kelownagospelmission.ca
