The Accounting Clerk contributes to maintaining the financial records including both accounts payable and accounts receivable tasks. Bookkeeping, processing deposits, processing outgoing payments, assisting with payroll and general clerical responsibilities are all included in this role. The accounting clerk must ensure compliance with various KGM procedures and protocols.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect, review, and enter all accounts payable bills and invoices.  
  • Prepare and process outgoing payments semi-monthly in accordance with KGM’s financial policies and procedures.  
  • Review periodic vendor statements, ensure accuracy and investigate discrepancies.  
  • Perform day to day financial transactions including verifying, classifying, and recording accounts payable data. 
  • Prepare reimbursements to employees and volunteers for corporate expenses.
  • Manage the collection, review, and entry of all receipts for corporate credit cards, ensuring accurate monthly reconciliations.   
  • Conduct full-cycle monthly bookkeeping tasks.
  • Count and process cash received from various departments.
  • Receive and record all deposits using QuickBooks Online.
  • Process employee insurance benefit enrolment and handles related concerns.
  • Process semi-monthly payroll using ADP and address related queries.
  • Assist with entering donation information into CRM software (Raiser’s Edge) as needed.

Job Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in Accounting, Business Administration and/or a related field with 2+ year experience in similar role. 
  • A comprehensive understanding of bookkeeping, GAAP, and accounting regulations.  
  • Knowledge and experience using QuickBooks Online and ADP accounting software.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel and Outlook). 
  • Ability to exercise a high level of professionalism and discretion with confidential information.
  • Skilled in producing professional reports, presentations, and documents.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and adept at multitasking.
  • Resourceful and goal-oriented team player.
  • Able to prioritize, meet deadlines, and work independently.
  • Requires Criminal Records Check (Vulnerable Sector).
  • Expected work schedule of 28-40 hours per week, Monday through Friday
  • The starting wage for this position is $24.88 per hour less applicable statutory deductions and benefits after 6 months.
